Accessing Map Location β
To configure map locations, follow these steps:
- Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
- From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
- Select Tracking Page from the left navigation sidebar.
- Scroll down to the Map Location section.
Available Map Pin Options β
In the Map Location section, you have three options for choosing the map pin:
No Location β
Choose this option if you want:
- No pin on the map
- No locations over the carrier status
Note: If the carrier company adds city names or country names, only then will they be visible. To remove those, refer to the Hide and Replace Locations article.
Order Shipping Address β
- Choose this option if you want:
- To pull information from Shopifyβs order shipping address.
- To display locations on the map if Shopify returns valid locations.
Current Carrier Location β
Choose this option if you want to:
- Display location based on the carrier's location.
- After filtering with AI, Rush maps the location address to GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) to display them on the map.
WARNING
Disclaimer:
- There may be issues if the carrier doesnβt provide enough address details, such as city and country. For example, if the carrier provides only the city name "Memphis," which exists in both Egypt and Tennessee, USA, the software will pick the most likely option between the two. This may result in incorrect locations being shown.
- Carriers donβt always provide location information associated with checkpoints, so some checkpoints may lack location data. In such cases, the last known location will be shown.
- To avoid possible location issues, it is usually recommended to choose No Location or Order Shipping Address.
FAQs β
How does the software determine which location to pick when there are multiple locations with the same name? β
A simple algorithm is used to determine the most likely location. However, there is a possibility that the wrong location may be selected. The more duplicates there are, the smaller the chance of picking the right one.
Can an incorrect location be corrected? β
No, you cannot correct locations for individual shipments. The option you choose applies by default to all shipments.
What if previous locations were in a given country (e.g., the US) β would the software assume that the destination location is in the same country? β
No, location tracking is based on input data provided by the carrier company. The software will not make assumptions about the country as it could be incorrect for cross-country shipments.
