Increase Usage Charges โ€‹

Overview โ€‹

Cap is the specific amount that is added on top of the selected plan amount in case there is an increase in order volume. The Rush app allows store owners to add this cap amount to their existing plan to limit their payments to an amount they are comfortable with and to efficiently manage the overflow of orders.

This ensures:

  • Transparency
  • Flexibility
  • Fair usage billing

If you see any of these warning messages, this article will help you resolve your issue:

Description โ€‹

Selecting the Growth 500 plan at $29.00 allows a total of 500 shipments per month. If the quota is reached during your 30-day billing period and there are still shipments to be processed, the Rush app will prompt you to either:

  • Increase the cap amount
  • Upgrade the plan

Note

To learn more about cap limits, refer to App charges article.

Increasing Capped Amount โ€‹

The cap limit can be increased by following these steps:

  1. Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  2. From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
  3. Select Billing from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  4. Scroll down to the Usage charges section.
  5. Click on the Set usage limit button. A popup will appear asking for the amount you want to cap at.
    • The minimum limit threshold starts at $1.00.
  6. After selecting the amount, click Update and then Approve.

Note

By increasing the capped amount, store owners stay on their originally selected plan and just pay for the additional orders as per their new limit.

Once the cap usage is reached, the store owners will see a message indicating that on top of the page and in the billing section.

Note

  • All features of the currently selected plan will remain active and available.
  • Rush won't send more notifications until the plan is upgraded upon reaching the cap usage limit.
  • Subscription plan prices, shipment quota, and cost per shipment can vary based on selected plans.

FAQs โ€‹

How is the forecasted charge/cost calculated?

The forecasted charge/cost is calculated automatically based on current usage. For example, if a store owner has consumed $6 in the first 5 days of the month, the software will calculate expected expenses for the remaining 25 days. In this case, it will amount to $30, leading to a total consumption of $36 โ€“ this is the Forecasted cost.

Note

Forecasted costs are just an indicative measure. They do not limit the actual amount that can be set.

Can I change my usage cap more than once during one billing cycle?

Yes, you can change the usage charges as often as needed during one billing cycle. However, the usage charges cannot be set lower than the current usage for the billing period due to Shopifyโ€™s limitations. For example, if the current usage is $11.16, you can choose any usage charge greater than or equal to $11.16 but cannot go lower until the new billing cycle starts.

Where can I find information on costs per shipment quota, free trackings left, and when my next billing cycle starts?

To access information regarding shipment quota, free trackings, and billing cycles:

  1. Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  2. From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
  3. Select Billing from the navigation sidebar on the left.
  4. Click on the Upgrade plan button, and you can check the information below the slider.
