This article guides you through the steps to enhance the visibility of the current shipment location on your tracking page. By following these instructions, you can configure the Rush app to retrieve and display location information from your carriers during the shipping process. Step-by-Step Guide β
Enable Location Information for Shipments β
Navigate to Apps:
- Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
Select the Rush App:
- From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
Access Shipments:
- Select Shipments from the left navigation sidebar.
Go to Settings:
- Select Settings from the left navigation menu.
Enable Location Details:
- In the "Shipment Checkpoint Location Details" section, find the option to "Retain Address Information."
- Select this option to enable the app to store location details.
After completing these steps, all future shipments will include location information, offering more detailed tracking for you and your customers.
Display Current Location on the Modern Tracking Page β
Navigate to Apps:
- Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
Select the Rush App:
- From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
Access Tracking Page:
- Select the Tracking Page from the navigation sidebar on the left.
Customize the Tracking Page:
- Click on Customize to open a new window.
- Scroll down to the Map Pin section and choose the Current Carrier Location option.

Display Location Messages on the Open Store Tracking Page β
Navigate to Apps:
- Select Apps from the navigation sidebar on the left.
Select the Rush App:
- From the list of installed apps, select the Rush app.
Access Tracking Page:
- Select the Tracking Page from the navigation sidebar on the left.
Customize the Open Store Tracking Page:
- Click on Customize to open the Shopify Theme Editor in a new tab.
- Click on the Shipment Details block.
- Check the option to Show Message Location and save the changes.

FAQs β
How is location information obtained from carriers? β
Some carriers provide location details readily, while others do not. In cases where information is unavailable, we extract location details from carrier messages. This process may occasionally result in incomplete location data, leading to incorrect current location displays.
How does the software select the correct location when multiple locations share the same name? β
The software uses an algorithm to identify the most probable location. However, there is a chance it may select the wrong location. The accuracy improves with more detailed information from carriers.
Is it possible to correct an incorrect location? β
No, individual shipment locations cannot be amended. The chosen setting is applied automatically to all future shipments, not retroactively. If you turn off location tracking, all location details from shipment messages will be deleted.
Does the software assume that the destination location is in the same country as previous locations (e.g., in the US)? β
No, the location tracking is strictly based on data provided by the carrier. The software does not make assumptions about destination locations, especially for cross-border shipments.
