FAQs

  1. How is location information obtained from carriers?
Some carriers may readily offer location details, while others may not. In situations where the information isn't readily available, we utilize a mixed approach by extracting location details from carrier messages. It's worth noting that this process may sometimes result in incomplete location data, and thus incorrectly showing the current location.

  2. How does the software select the correct location when multiple locations share the same name?
The software uses a basic algorithm to identify the most probable location. Nonetheless, there is a chance that it may select the wrong location. The likelihood of choosing the correct location increases with more information carriers are sending.

  3. Is it possible to correct an incorrect location?
No, individual shipments' locations cannot be amended. The chosen setting is automatically applied to all shipments, not retroactively, but from that point onwards. If you opt to turn off locations, all location details from your shipment messages will be deleted.

  4. Does the software assume that the destination location is in the same country as previous locations (e.g. in the US)?

No, the location tracking is strictly reliant on the data provided by the carrier. The software refrains from making such assumptions as they could be inaccurate for shipments that are crossing borders.
